We explore the provision of good 'slow' food, locally sourced from fresh ingredients, often using traditional methods. To this end we research and often visit local food producers, shops etc. We collect and present information on topics such as food additives, and Fair Trade - and occasionally we enjoy our own home-produced goodies. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, which can make our discussions lively. We decide on a subject and one or more of our members makes a presentation which is followed by open discussion. WALKING GROUP Co-ordinators : Jenny and Geoff Williams 01902 : 340602 Group meets on varying days by arrangement so that all members have a chance to participate. Walks vary from easy rambles of 4 miles to more strenuous longer walks up to 10 miles - the average being 6 miles over undulating terrain. Pub lunch or picnic. We usually meet at the Daisy Freezer Centre, Compton to travel by car, sharing vehicles.
