Are you aware of WOLVERHAMPTON U3A?
Retired from full-time employment, looking to stretch your mind, extend your social life and have some fun? The U3A may be just what you're looking for!

Wolverhampton U3A, formed in 1996 is an autonomous, self-help, organisation offering educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment, having a current membership of 160. We hold a monthly meeting which usually includes a talk of general interest with time for conversation over refreshments. We also run occasional visits and socials. But the core element is the interest groups usually held in members' homes. Our parent body, The Third Age Trust ( www.u3a.org.uk ) recognises the immense resource of skills, knowledge and enthusiasm possessed by older people, and members work together as both teachers and learners in a quest for true life-long learning and enjoyment. New members are encouraged to talk to group coordinators or to sample sessions to help them choose which groups to join. Everyone is encouraged to suggest new interest groups.

U3A stands for University of the Third Age and the U3A approach to learning is learning for pleasure. Educational qualifications are not required for membership and none are awarded. Current interest groups are, Art Appreciation; Cinema; Creative Writing; Digital Imaging; French; Gardening; German Conversation; Improvers German; Jazz; Latin; Local History; Music Appreciation; Play Reading; Reading; Real Food; Singing for Pleasure; Social Issues; Understanding Opera and a Walking Group.
Membership costs 10 pounds per year, and at monthly meetings we pay 1.50 to cover room hire, refreshments and speaker costs. Interest groups cover their own, usually small, costs.
Want to know more: visit our Web Site: www.wolverhamptonu3a.co.uk
Want to speak to someone:
Contact: Jenny Williams [Membership] 01902 340602, Geoff_n_jen@btinternet.com or: John Black [Publicity] 01902 341460: jon.black@blueyonder.co.uk or Len Moore, 01902 650130, leonardmoore@blueyonder.co.uk .
Alternatively experience a Taster Session [2.00 pounds] by attending one of our Monthly Meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of the month @ 2.00pm at: Friends Meeting House, 8b Summerfield Rd.
